Welcome! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your one paragraph application:
We welcome you to apply to stay on Hunter S. Thompson's Owl Farm compound, in the writer's cabin. After your application has been approved (please write a one paragraph email explaining why you would like to stay at the writer's cabin, at least two dates that you would like to begin your 3 night stay, & names of people who would join you). When approved, we will send you instructions for the next steps & what dates we can accommodate you. Guests that are not on the list are strictly prohibited unless written approval is given by one of the Gonzo Nation staff members in advance.
Hunter S. Thompson’s Writing Cabin contains one of Hunter’s desks in a peaceful home on the Owl Farm compound. Under some circumstances, Hunter Thompson’s wife, Anita, who still lives in the main house, invites guests to see the private museum. Because it is her private residence, a tour is not automatically included in cabin stay. She does take special circumstances into consideration if there is a request to see the main house/private museum.
This classic cabin was owned by Hunter Thompson until his death in 2005. He hosted guests, staff, and spent time in the main historic part of the cabin (now the master bedroom). It is full of Gonzo history with two bedrooms, one newly renovated bathroom, a kitchen/bar/ living room area with views of Dr. Thompson’s Owl Farm Red Cliff Canyon, Woody Creek mesa and entire Woody Creek Valley.
There is no extra charge for the fact this is Hunter's cabin during this season's fundraiser. We use standard rates for this area.
